About
Research interests
I'm Yilin Ye, a visualization researcher working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, human–computer interaction, and art.
I obtained a PhD in Computational Media and Arts from the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof. Wei Zeng and Prof. Kang Zhang. Before that, I earned a BA in Foreign Language and a BSc in Mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou.
My research sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, human–computer interaction, and art. I reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing artists and other users in the age of generative AI.
Through visualization and information retrieval, I build channels for people to interact with—and make sense of—art, design, and generative-AI data.
